USE THIS CHECKLIST AS A GUIDE…

Toward a successful, truly MAGICAL  CHRISTMAS PARTY!

• ORGANIZE YOUR COMMITTEE
• ASSIGN DUTIES
• ESTABLISH YOUR BUDGET
• HOW  MANY GUESTS?
• DECIDE  ON  A  DATE
• BOOK  A  LOCATION
• ARRANGE FOR A STAGE or PLATFORM - Everyone will be able to see the live entertainment and SANTA better, and a 'riser' or platform gives you more overall control.
• ARRANGE FOR MICROPHONE + STAND - A quality,  hands free,  removable OMNI- DIRECTIONAL microphone, on ADJUSTABLE stand, is definitely required for larger halls and parties. Set-up and test it before your event!
• SEATING ARRANGEMENTS - RESERVE front seats FOR CHILDREN  ONLY, allow sitting in a group, where, released from immediate parental supervision, they're apt to be more relaxed and responsive to the SHOW!   Side seats can be used for families not wishing to separate. However... for overall control, PRE- SCHOOL CHILDREN, and TODDLERS, SHOULD REMAIN WITH THEIR PARENTS.
• BOOK YOUR LIVE ENTERTAINMENT -  'JONATHON T. WIZARD',  (Johnny Ould), a favourite professional children's magical entertainer in this area, with over 35 years experience, provides the IDEAL...'Opening Act' for SANTA CLAUS!

• BOOK YOUR Santa Claus - SANTA, a  'sweet breathed',  jovial, child loving, sort of  guy, should be hidden on location, ready to appear on the arranged 'entrance cue'.
• MASTER of CEREMONIES - Pick someone that's most comfortable and organised.
• ARRANGE FOR MUSIC  -  Music, sing-songs etc. are best presented at the beginning of the party, where latecomers will cause less of a disruption and embarrassment,  than during the LIVE SHOW that follows.
• GIFTS - Who will: Buy, Wrap, Label, Store, and Bring gifts to the Party?
• DECIDE ON OTHER TIME FILLERS - A noisy CLOWN may scare little children. A gentle one is more loveable, especially at close quarters.  Unless invited by a performer, clowns should remain quiet at the back during the LIVE SHOW so as to not interfere or detract in any way.  The best time for 'FILLERS'  is during  the SANTA visitations, easing  the big wait!
• HANDOUTS - DON'T DISTRIBUTE ANYTHING, if  possible, prior to, or during the LIVE SHOW. You paid for good entertainment, so why spoil it and allow or provide distractions or noisy interruptions?
• DISCUSS REFRESHMENTS - If any serve them AFTER  the show (possibly during SANTA VISITS?)  It's easier to control and less rushing around trying to re-seat guests.
• DISCUSS DECORATIONS - Keep it simple.  Set-up? ...Clean up? ...Who?
